IRCTC Namah Lounge, located at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai, is a state-of-the-art air-conditioned waiting lounge designed for passenger convenience. It offers a range of amenities at an affordable price:
- Affordable Access: Entry to the lounge costs ₹10 per hour. A security deposit of ₹50 is collected upon entry, with the remainder refunded upon exit. Children below 5 years can access it for free, and those aged 5-12 are charged ₹5 per hour.
- Amenities: The lounge features sofas, dining tables, dedicated laptop workspaces with charging ports, a library, toilets, shower facilities with bath kits, disposable linen kits, and a café. An LED screen displays train schedules, and audio announcements ensure passengers stay informed about their journeys.
- Sleeping Pods: Adjacent to the lounge, Namah Enterprises operates a pod hotel with 40 sleeping pods, including single, double, and family pods. These compact, air-conditioned pods include amenities like lockers, charging points, fire alarms, and deluxe toilets. Rates start at ₹499 for 12 hours, providing an economical alternative to hotels in South Mumbai.
This initiative is part of a public-private partnership by Indian Railways to enhance passenger amenities at CSMT and may be extended to other stations if successful.
