A Day of Lounge Hopping: My Experience Visiting 4 Airport Lounges in 24 Hours
My day started early in the morning, and it was destined to be a day spent hopping between flights and lounges-4 lounges in 24 hours to be exact! From Delhi (IGI Airport, T3) to Bangalore Airport (T2) and back to Delhi, it was an experience like no other.
My Airport Lounge Itinerary
- First Stop: Encalm Lounge, T3, IGI Airport, Delhi (4:45 AM – 5:45 AM)
- Duration: 60 minutes (1 hour) What I Had: A simple start—milk tea and a cookie. Perfect for a light pre-flight snack. Ambience: Quiet and peaceful at that early hour.
- Second Stop: 080 Arrival Lounge, Bangalore Airport, T2 (9:35 AM – 10:50 AM)
- Duration: 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes)What I Had: Light breakfast—muesli with hot milk and a banana.Ambience: Relaxing after the flight; it’s always refreshing to step into an arrival lounge.
- Third Stop: 080 Domestic Departure Lounge, Bangalore Airport, T2 (4:35 PM – 6:45 PM)
- Duration: 130 minutes (2 hours 10 minutes)
- What I Had: A full high tea spread and heavy snacks. The chat corner and dessert section stood out, offering a variety of dishes that left me spoilt for choice. Truly deserving of its IBA 2024 Award.
- Fourth Stop: Encalm Arrival Lounge, T3, IGI Airport, Delhi (11:05 PM – 12:10 AM)
- Duration: 65 minutes
- What I Had: A late-night dinner featuring paneer roll, gulab jamun, and tea cake for dessert with milk tea. Though I usually eat dinner at 7:30 PM, this felt like a special indulgence.
Reflections on the Journey
Visiting 4 lounges in a single day—two at Delhi IGI Airport and two at Bangalore T2 Airport—was both exciting and fulfilling. From light breakfasts to hearty dinners, I experienced it all.
- Best Lounge Award: 080 Domestic Departure Lounge, Bangalore T2. The variety of food, especially the chat corner and dessert section, truly elevated the experience.
- Why This Works: This adventure is only possible if you travel between Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore—the only airports in India offering arrival lounges.
Closing Thoughts
I’m curious: How many of you have experienced visiting multiple lounges in a single day? If not, I’d recommend trying it at least once—it’s a memorable way to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
